I don't know why so many people are hating Apple. They used current laws to obtain and enforce their patents. The whole patent system needs a re work. Does that mean Apple should do what they're doing? No.. but don't forget about the SYSTEM that enables them to do all of this.

Umm yea as if apple is innovative when they use other company technologies. Just a FYI... Apple doesn't produce any hardware themselves.

You can't honestly believe that any of the things Apple sued Samsung are actually valid? Android was not invented by Samsung and furthermore it is an opensource OS. Secondly, the 'Round Edges' was present on hardware prior to the Galaxy S2.

This whole legal business is not actually going to result in sales bans or actual fines for anyone, they will all sell their products and endless column inches will be used to slur each other, but the only people that will make any real money will be the lawyers and the (bribed) judges.

He hit me first falls apart when the hits are in the hundred of millions to billions of dollars (or comparable amounts of other currencies) for BS reasons.

You try competing with a company who's been riding on using your hardware for most of the hardware in their phones and then starts to sue you over ridiculous, nonsensical things such as rounded off rectangles or using the color black or for icons being rounded off squares (there's only so many shapes that things can be and most of them would make people think WTF). It's Apple that doesn't innovate, they don't even make their phones. Samsung makes most of the hardware in their phones, makes the most stable and some of the very best SSDs in terms of both performance and reliability (some of which are made entirely by Samsung), makes some of the best displays, and much more. Apple hardly does anything in comparison. Samsung is suing Apple because Apple sues Samsung. What do you expect, Samsung to just sit there and let Apple slap them around?

Apple's cases against Samsung are evidence, so Samsung couldn't possibly have insufficient evidence unless Apple manages to convince the judge that there never were any prior Apple vs Samsung cases.

Android is Open Source.

You can always download Android at Android Open Source Project web site (AOSP site).

The software that drives the hardware on the gadgets (phone/tablets) -- also known as drivers -- are not necessarily open source.

Samsung ROMs are closed-source because they are combination of AOSP and closed-source drivers.
