I am a big guy with large hands. My Note 1 is just what the doctor ordered. It feels like a normal phone to me. And once you get used the screen size, you can never go back to something smaller. I still use my Gen. 1 iPod Touch on my commute and when I travel and would hate to have to use it as a phone. My wife is small and petite. She does not like my Note but prefers her 4S.

We all have our like and dislikes and should be happy there are products to meet these individual needs. It doesn't make what we don't like a bad product.

She's got tiny little hands... Anything bigger than an iPhone is a tablet...LOL

If you'll remember the Pythagorean Theorem from geometry class, it is easy to calculate the surface area of the screen, which is a much more useful measure of screen size than the diagonal (which is what is always reported (i.e. 5", 5.7"). When comparing phones with different aspect ratios (i.e. 16x9 vs 16x10), the calculations are a bit cumbersome, so I've done the math for you below. Another key measure is pixels/inch (PPI) which is the best measure of display crispness, if u will. It is the resolution (i.e. 1280 x 720) adjusted by screen size. I've added that in parentheses after the square inch measure. I've seen PPI published on many sites, but I've never seen square inches published anywhere.
S3: 9.84 square inches (306 PPI)
S4: 10.68 square inches (441 PPI)
GNote I: 12.62 square inches (285 PPI)
GNote II: 12.93 square inches (267 PPI)
GNote 3: 13.88 square inches (386 PPI)
puny iPhone 5s: 6.84 square inches (326 PPI)
for those challenged by arithmetic, when comparing two phones, divide larger number by smaller number (13.88 / 6.84 = 2.03) to see that the GNote 3 is 2.03 times as large as the puny ass iPhone 5s. Apple's "retina" display is a marketing term for PPI, but you can see from the numbers above, Samsung's newer phones are more retina than the iPhone 5s. And yes, I do have an attitude about iPhones which, according to my therapist, is untreatable. As you may have guessed I am an OCD statistician.
