2560 x 1440 is ridiculous...along with a 5.2" screen... thing is going to weigh 10lbs because of the battery needed to power that stupid display. Samsung misses the mark again...
We get it. You hate Samsung and always show up on samsung threads to bash samsung and people who love samsung and android.Apple is coming out with a 5-6 inch phone soon and it will have the same resolution. What will you say then?As for weight, compare android phones to iphones. You will see samsung makes light and durable phones that do not shatter if you sneeze on them like iphones do.Samsung misses the mark again? Samsung alone sells twoce as many phones as apple and is way ahead Apple on market share. If samsung misses the mark as often as you claim then apple is TRULY misses the mark since it struggles and always lags behind. As for the battery, all benchmarks show that apple is almost dead last. Samsung phones last longer. Battery life improves with every new samsung phone YET the screen increases as well as power.Hey, can some moderators moderate otacon and other posters when it comes to samsung and android bashing or does Apple pay you too much to police THOSE abuses?

I currently use the Nexus 4. I'm ready to upgrade to a phone with microSD, removable battery, bigger screen, and a much better camera. But I also need my next phone to be WATERPROOF! If the S5 is waterproof, I'll sell my N4 and buy the S5 without a second thought. The S4 Active was never released in my country.

the s4 active was never guaranteed to be waterproof, only water resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minute time spans. You should look for a waterproof case for a phone that has all of the other features

Not too bright, are you? Trolling is a waste of time, and if you truly believe this claim, you don't understand the definition of innovation.

I am not trying to fanboy or start a flame war but to be honest I don't think there is a need for any of this stuff in a phone. The more you pack obviously the hotter it will get, if you have a huge 16MP sensor and then stuff all that hardware+a battery into such a small form factor there might be a problem. I like the way Nokia is taking with the Lumia series namely the 1020 having the gigantic 41MP sensor but having it raised not really worrying about having the thinnest phone and then being able to keep in good hardware that will run everything nice and smooth on WP8. I have a 920 and I don't spend much time playing games on my phone but things like Jetpack Joyride and Temple Run play just fine. If you are buying a phone for playing games why not just buy a android based handheld like the Nvidia Shield and a lighter phone with better battery life? I don't have a Shield myself but I have played around with one and it is pretty fun.

Water resistant is good enough too. I need it for the occasional pool dip in house parties, or when reading while I'm taking a bath. Water resistance phone should be the norm. Sony does it. Too bad their phones are always underspec'd or have ungodly bezels.

As far as I'm aware, there are no waterproof or water resistant case for the Nexus 4.

For a waterproof phone what about the Xperia Z from Sony?

" Rumor has it, the GS5 could ditch the plastic casing in favor of a sleeker metal design. The metal would definitely give the GS5 a premium flavor, and if the above specs are close to what we'll see in Barcelona, the phone deserves a slick chassis to match its insides."I just hope Samsung does not put a metal plate to

I just hope Samsung keeps the plastic backing and does not add one of those silly metal covers. HTC did that and it got them nothing.

My phone is nearly 2.5 years old, so I'll be in the market soon. Looks interesting even at the "lower" specs mentioned at the end.

LOL, I was thinking much the same myself. Soon we'll be shaking our canes at the young'uns and saying, "Back in my day...."

Great, so we're on our way to 2560x1440 in a 5.2 inch screen...why can't we get that on affordable PC monitors yet? Before you know it, smartphones will beat PCs to 4k resolution!

2560 x 1440 on a 5 inch display is stupid.... you can't see the difference between that an a 1080 phone. Now on a 24" desktop display, it WOULD be noticeable.
What I find stupid is that the iPhone is not even 1080! lol and yes we know anything that is android or bigger than apple is useless to your eyes. People like you love to be told what to buy and how to use it. Android is the present and the future.!

They should have added Motorola's X8 coprocessor idea that Apple copied and called M7.Optical image stabilization is more welcome on the camera than 16mp. Seriously, most ppl post on InstaCrap anyway which downsizes all images to VGA.For low light, put in a f/1.4 lens. Photobugs would go apesh!t.3gb of RAM is welcome because you can't uninstall Sammy's bloat unless you root.Bigger battery is always welcome.Instead of a single micro SD slot, how about dual? 64gb x 2 micro SD + 32gb internal = 160gb on a phone! I wouldn't need the cloud anymore to carry around my entire MP3 library and a ton of movies! An improved USB 3.0 system would be welcome too.

Stick with you're 720p phone there pal I'll move forward with the latest greatest. Same type of person that still uses one of those cheap tiny 24" PC displays with 3 yr old parts thinking, meh its good enough when there is so much better out.

I had the S3, have the S4, and probably will get the S5 a few months after it gets released. Give it time to lower in price and have more accessories available. The improvements made with each generation do make for a better experience. I'm most looking forward to the massively improved camera and a display that's going to be jaw-dropping gorgeous with 4K playback.

Anyone who said 5.2 inch is too big to fit in a pocket is obviously an Apple apologist. Once Apple releases a 5.2 inch+ phone this whole group will be praising how such size is perfect.
