******ITS A SATA M.2 BASED SSD
I purchased msi x370 gaming pro carbon+Ryzen 1700X.Now i was planning to buy samsung m.2 850 evo 250gb ssd.But looks like its not compatible with my board as its not listed on qvl compatibility list.
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#support-hdd

My question is,
1) will the samsung M.2 850 evo 250gb be compatible on the m.2 slot of the my board?
2) if yes,Can i use this sata M.2 ssd for my OS?

AND PLZ DONT SUGGEST 950 OR 951 PCIE BASED SSDS,AS THEY R OUT OF MY BUDGET.
PLEASE help and Explain.

Solution
1. The 850 EVO is an M.2 SATA drive. The X370 supports both nVME and SATa drives in the M.2 form factor. So yes, it's compatible.
You'll find the support list confirming both PCIe/nVME and SATA M.2's here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#support-hdd
It doesn't specifically list the 850 EVO, but there's no reason it wouldn't work - it's just not been officially tested.

2. Yes, you can boot from it. Booting from M.2 has been a 'thing' for a while, with nVME boot support since Intel's Z (and H)97

Your others questions are gone, but I was answering them anyway.

1. The manual, located here: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#down-manual
States that with M.2 slot 1...
Hi,

Yes it will be compatible but:
1 If you mount it to the M.2 slot you will lose 2 of the SATA express ports, which I'.m not sure you will have anyway, and if just disregard.
2. If you mount it to the m.2 slot You will only gain PCIE x3,0 x2 which btw is far more effective and way faster that an any SATA interface.

3. You can attached it to a PCIE 3.0 x4 on the PCIe-bus, but then any graphic card will only run in x8 pcie instead of Pcie 3.0 x16
Now that doesn't really matter, since any graphics card are not or should I say, way off to even come near to a PCIE bus at x16 speed, so my suggestion, if if You have an M.2 device with PCIE go for the PCIE slot x4.

Btw. A M.2 SSD in either M.2 slot or PCIE slot is so much faster than any sata protocol, that I can't even discuss this..
Best regards, from Sweden

States that with M.2 slot 1 populated with either PCIe or SATA, but do not populate slot #2 you do not lose any functionality. If you populate slot #1 with either, and slot #2 with PCIe, you disable PCI_E6. If you populate slot #2, you disable SATA port #3.

2. Covered above ^

3. The M.2 shield is removeable. You remove the screw, lift the cover and install the M.2 drive. There are individual slots for the M.2 drive. The shield covers slot #1. The second slot is below the secondary x16 slot and is not covered.

4. Again, covered above ^
