Question Samsung M.2 980 Pro with heatsink SSD not recognised by Gigabyte 610I motherboard bios ?

So I tried to install Windows 11 on a Samsung 1tb m.2 980 PRO with heatsink in a Gigabyte 610I ITX motherboard and the bios and Windows installer would not recognise the drive at all.

I tried updating the motherboard bios to the latest version but still the drive was not detected.

Seems to be quite a few posts on the internet about this line of Samsung M.2 SSDs not being detected by motherboards, however the drive is not completely new and had been formatted previously to work in a PS5.

Out of curiosity, what BIOS version are you currently on? If you're on the latest, meaning F30;

did you clear the CMOS for your motherboard after verifying the BIOS was successfully flashed to the latest version?

I have tried to clear the CMOS, but it didn't make a difference. I updated the bios to F30

Since the drive was previously used, does it have a GPT partition table header? It also helps make installation go fastest and easiest if all of the drive space is unallocated, although that's not a strict requirement, its just for ease and speed.

Can't really test the Samsung 980 Pro out separately from the Gigabyte 610I as I only have a laptop as a second Windows computer at the moment.

Bought and installed a Crucial P3 1 TB m.2 on the motherboard which was recognised.
