Question Samsung Oddysey G5. HDMI splitter does not work for laptop output.

Hi there,

I have just purchased a Samusng Oddysey G5 and have a HP laptop and Xbox series X. I went to use a HDMI splitter to make my life easier since this screen only has one HDMI in, but it won't display the laptop's screen, only the xbox. Any advice or suggestions on what I need to purchase to make this possible so I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging the HDMI lead for each respective device in every 5 minutes lol.

Are all the cables running into the splitter the same length? What splitter are you using?

Thanks for your reply. The HDMI cables are the same length. I have tried two different HDMI splitters, one of them is a Vention and the other is just a cheap one with no brand on it, but said 4K compatibile. Any suggestions?

You need something like this LINK this will allow you to select which source gets sent to the screen.

Your basically trying to use a splitter in reverse and it doesnt work that way. A splitter takes one signal and mirrors it onto two different displays.
