I have already got mine (1TB mSata 850 EVO) last Friday. Too bad only comes with 3 years warranty. Still looking for the M2.0 3mm flat head screw for me to screw it on to my laptop 🙁

I recently bought the Samsung 850 EVO 500 gig for my Linux Mint workstation. Made a huge difference in speed. Correction to the previous poster the EVO 850 model line comes with a 5 year warranty not 3 regardless of interface type. There is a write limit warranty but doubt most of you will ever reach that over the life of the drive.

Was about to look for one to by until I say that they are sata based. Somebody release a damn m.2 pcie 3.0 4x drive to retail already

Most PC's only have 16 3.0. Lanes And the graphics card uses all of that up.

PCI Express 4 in conjuction with skylake going to 20 lanes will help push PCIe SSD Storage, but thats a two years away. 2H 2016 for PCI 4.0

to who you have quoted Plexor already has a line of PCIe 4x m.2 drives and to jasonelmore how do you get there will even be a PCIe 4.0 that is compatable with PCIe 3.0 and before?

My comment on the article now it is a nice thing to see that laptops and tablets will get more storage soon

This is wrong the Z77 and Z87 platforms have 16X lanes that hang off the CPU's integrated PCI-e controller, but they have 8X 2.0 lanes hanging off the south bridge. (4x 3.0 PCI-e) Most of the M-ATX boards that have the little 4x/8x PCI-e slot are those lanes.

There is kingston hyper x predator m2, that looks good. http://www.overclockers.com/kingston-hyperx-predator-m-2-pcie-g2-x4-480gb-ssd-review/

Seems like a bare bones m.2 green board should be cheaper than the sata 850 ssd, but instead it is around $50 more expensive at least in 500gb. .

M.2 that is just Sata3 seems like such a waste, why bother you can use a regular SSD or a mSata if you want those speeds and it will cost you less. The whole point of M.2 is the ability to run faster then Sata3 speeds. What a waste of money what are these mfrs thinking?

I'm on x99

now something like this must to be inside a samsung galaxy premiun cellphone (sorry my english). Since the introduction of cellphone a very large list of gadget are eated by it (watch, calculator, videocamera, beeper, note book etc etc) i predict the next gadget to fusion is the usb flashdrive or thumbdrive
