I recently purchased a Samsung Smart TV 8 Series. When I try connecting it to the internet by LAN/WAN it says connected to router but not able to connect to internet, contact your ISP. Sometimes it connects and then goes to the previous status in a short time. I am using a Leoxsys 54 g-dl 54madsl2+router and I have a bsnl ul750 plan. Both Samsung and bsnl tell me its not a problem on their side. I am able to access internet on other devices through the same plan. I have tried using an alternate dns server.

Did you first reserve the IP address to the TV, this works for me although sometimes not stable.

I think this is a better solution than the 8888 as I cannot connect to unblock us for netflix otherwise.

I have Comcast. I contacted Comcast tech-support and they claim Samsung's TVs have difficulty with the Comcast network security. They suggested I log into the Comcast router and change the network security to WPA-TPIK. I did as instructed and I had to re-login all my devices but everything worked great

I have tried all solutions but non works for me . But I got it work by
1. Connect to TV with wire to you router .
2. On your remote press --- menu button --- network then connect it up using wire network.
3. Go to menu --- network --- network status you will see all net work setting such as ip add, DNS so take photo of that or write it down.
4. Unplug LAN cable from TV and check network status again .it should be disconnected then press on IP settings .
5. Put all details you take photo or write down . Now it should works.

Hope this help

There are two addresses on the Samsung Smart TV: One for wired and one for wireless.

I entered my wireless address into the router and it did not fix the issue.
On my TV, when the network goes down, the "Network" option within the Menu goes gray and is inaccessible for some time or until I turn the tv off and then back on again.

I have watched this happen while monitoring the Broadband as well as internal signal strength in the house. This really does seem to be an issue with the TV that Samsung is refusing to acknowledge.

My younger brother was having an issue where his LG smart tv wouldn't connect after being able to use the internet for 3 days. After trying unplugging the ethernet cable, connecting to the wifi, I continued to manually configure the tv's internet settings. I set the default gateway to match my router, entered the correct subnet mask, I entered the assigned internal ip that my router gave it, and I entered in the default DNS server which was 8.8.8.8. It then worked. Hopefully this helps someone who had this issue.

After many hours with comcast and Samsung with no resolution to problem and after Samsung told me to return the TV to them for service I found this site and tried the 8.8.8.8 solution... Eureka!!! success. I cannot believe that providers and the builder of the set do not know of this. I hope it continues to work for the long term. THANK YOU

Have troubleshooting wifi connection issue since upgrade router, use secret menu to change wifi region and reset SVC. Still did not connect until I open smart hub and pressed tools button on remote to open menu, select setting and rest smart hub. Wirelessconnect is back TV firmware update reopen smart hub and do updates.

After two years of perfect utility, suddenly today, my Smart TV wouldn't connect to the Internet through my WiFi router.

No changes to anything. All other devices happily connected (and also happily connected to the TV through the router). Simply no connection from router to internet, but only for the TV. Tried all solutions above - changing to the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Setting a static IP address for the TV. Setting a DMZ for that address. Hard-wiring the TV to the router (and setting a static IP address for that too!). Even changing the security for TKIP.

None of those things worked.

Does anyone have a DIFFERENT solution that has worked?

Thanks!

Don't listen to any of this crap I did and spent hours trying to fix it. And it may work for you but it certainly didn't for me. All I had to do was update the frwaking tv and bam it worked!! Hope this helps

I too have a Samsung Smart TV

I have been having difficulties connecting all day. I have tried unplugging the TV, leaving it off for hours and trying it again. I have tried turning on and off my router and nothing. I tried the 8.8.8.8 ans 8.8.4.4. thing and nothing. This is driving me absolutely crazy.

And someone suggested pushing a button behind the TV, but I see no button and it is boggling

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There,
Please help if you know any other solution mentioned previously. I've tried them all. My TV just refuses conect to the internet. and it was working just fine for 2 years until today. What is going on?

Notice to all who are having connection problems with Smart Hub. I contacted Samsung through their customer chat and Facebook, and the problem is theirs. They say they are undergoing maintenance. Do not give time to return to restore service. This is the message sent on Facebook:

"Samsung Spain.
Good morning, is for maintenance of the servers, is being recorded this incident we hope will solve as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience. You can check the status of it with our colleagues via chay logging support from any computer here: http://www.samsung.com/es/info/contactus.html For they are the ones who have access to customer data and processes. "

I just spoke to Samsung Support. They said there are server problems due to some TV models, all over Europe. Just be patient and all will hopefully work fine in few days.

Aha, this might explain why my tv has been acting funny.

It doesn't explain why it decided to delete all my apps and replace them with Korean apps, however.

My tv is doing the same thing too started either yesterday or the day before, I even updated the tv and still didn't fix it.

I'm in Europe (American tv) and mine started acting up yesterday. Tried a static ip, firmware update, and changing the dns to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. Nothing worked. Then I saw this post. Funny thing is that I just checked my other samsung smart tv and everything works fine. It's fairly new, less than a year old. The other is about 2-3yrs old. Idk if it being an older model is why it's the only one not connecting.

Exact thing since yesterday... My D8000 series (4y old) is not connecting. My 1y old is.
Tried all solutions mentioned here. Nothing.
Guess we will have to wait...

additional info: Managed to download (via internet) and reload the update... Still, no success with the rest of the internet connection 🙁

Same problem for me, ie. have connection to router (wired or WIFI) but not further. All was working fine for more than 2 years till yesterday. But most important I managed to upgrade TV's firmware via online today (from 1032 to 2004) while it still says there is no internet connection everywhere esle (Smart Hub etc.).

Same behaviour here. Since yesterday no Connection to the Internet possible.
Connection to local Network is working though.
It doesn´t matter if I use cable or wifi. Ist all the same....
Worked perfectly for over 2 Years now and out of the sudden all went bad...

Nice to know that it seems to be a Problem on Samsungs site.. Hopefully they will get this solved quickly...

Thanx. Just stumbled over this Information on Samsungs Facebooksite.

Samsung services are coming up online as I write this. All smart hub apps are responding (and downloading data). Still the problem remains with the "no internet connectivity"at the network menu, but I care less, since I can now see youtube without problems.
I 'd like to add that another 3y old Sony Blue Ray device I have, has the same problem (no internet connection)...
We will have to wait 😉

Oh and thanks gsamsungtv 😉

Same thing for me,I live in Mexico, it looks like Samsung is working on this problem and it is not a problem with the TV, good news! too bad there is no accurate message in the TV.
