Samsung SSD 850 EVO not working

I have an HP Pavilion HPE h8-1214 w/Win 8.1 that I'm trying to install the SSD on. (Gigabyte Angelica mobo w/AMD) I have cloned my drive, installed in SATA port but no matter what I do, Windows and Magician won't see it. The BIOS does. SATA is set up as RAID emulation - no go. I've tried AHCI and same thing. Please help!! Is this common for Samsungs? Would a different brand make any difference?

You will be better off with a new install of Windows in this situation.

Reformat the drive, and do a fresh install.
