I decided to get a new SSD for storage today, and I wanted to get something I could use in a new build eventually.
I decided to go with the 970 Evo Plus and I also got an orico nvme/pci-e x16 adaptor. I have an Asus z87-pro mobo. I have updated my bios, tried installing the adaptor in to both free pci-e ports and it doesn't seem to be finding the drive at all.
It will show up in device manager when I restart the computer, but after about a minute it will disappear. It never shows up in the bios, disc management, or samsung magician. I am not trying to boot from it, I just want to use it as a storage device for now.
I also tried using MiniTool Partition Wizard to see if I could create a partition from that. It sees the drive until I do a refresh in device manager, and then it disappears from there too. I've also tried installing the Samsung drivers, but the program doesn't even want to open. I'm not sure what is going on with it all, any help would be wonderful.
