Sandisk Vs Samsung

IRONBATMAN

Honorable
Hi,

I'm thinking of getting another SSD, as my 120GB 840 evo and 500 GB WD HDD is almost full. So I thought of getting another Samsung SSD after my good experience with the 840 Evo. But I don't think I need a faster SSD. I would prefer a cheaper SSD with a larger capacity.

The Sandisk Ultra Plus II and Crucial MX100 attracted me with their lower prices, as compared to Samsung's newly released 850 Evo, but I was wondering if the ease of use would be the same or any better. The only problem I had with the 840 Evo is that the SATA port on it was a little faulty and I had to wiggle and shake my SATA wire to find the right spot where the SSD would be detected.

So, would the Sandisk Ultra Plus II and Crucial MX100 be as easy to use as the 840 Evo ? And would their durability be comparable or better ? Basically I want to compare everything but their performance, as the 850 Evo is definitely faster. I just need more bytes than seconds.

Any input would be appreciated,
Thanks

BX has some functionality loss(nothing you would use most likely) and a considerably cheaper controller.
Go for the MX.
- Samsung is the top of the line for consumer SSD's and by using the same brand, you can easily maintain all your SSD's with Samsung Magician software.
- Sandisk Extreme Pro would be closest competitor to EVO series and are very good SSD's. Ultra Plus II is more of a budget SSD.
- Crucial has released MX200 budget SSD if you want to check that out. Replaces MX100 series.
