Sapphinre Nitro+ RX 480 4 GB Memory Speed and Overclocking question

Hi, currently i have the money to upgrade my VGA to RX 480. I want the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 480, the 4 GB model since it was far cheaper than the 8 GB version.

However, there are some things that concerned me a bit. It's the performance. I knew that the RX 480 4 GB reference actually are 8 GB but only uses 4 GB because of the bios. The difference between 4 GB and 8 GB in terms of gaming is very minimal but i want to have the best performance available. I heard that when you flashed the 4 GB version onto the 8 GB, the memory speed will be reduced to 1750 MHz from 2000 MHz. It's not that much, but from this video here shows some games do benefit from faster memory speed.

Of course, AIB partner cards are totally different than reference. If one sells a 4 GB card, it is 4 GB and not getting 8 GB.

My worries is that, can i overclock this 4GB card from 1750 MHz back to 2000 MHz in the 4 GB version and have the same performance as the 8 GB model? Buying the 4 GB is wiser choice because i play games at 1080p and the price difference with the 8 GB is sufficient enough to buy SSD 120 GB or even 240 GB SSD if i add a bit. However if i go buy the 8 GB version, i can't afford SSD at all.

If I were you, I'd hang on to the R9 380 until the holiday season, only a couple of months away. You might get a better deal and be able to afford the 8GB, instead of having to worry about BIOS flashing and overclocking.

Sadly on my country. there's no such thing as holiday sale etc etc. The price of the GPU will stay the same more or less than it's initial launch. So waiting for discount to happen is a no-go at least in here :s
