Sapphire 280X is GARBAGE on BF4

I can show you a video of me playing on ultra with the same card as well (around 80 fps). I didn't say it doesn't work at all. I said it crashes once every couple rounds.

Yes this isn't my first rodeo. Fresh windows 7 pro install, i5 2500, 8 gig ddr, old drivers completely removed, etc. I've seen other 280x users complaining about similar issues as well.

Funny how nobody else on tomshardware has complained about it. Also funny how I run two HD 7970s which are the same card and I have no issues whatsoever. You have a bad card, deal with it. It happens to all of us. If you have evidence of other R9-280X owners complaining about it, show us. If it's true, we need to know so that we can warn people about it. Right now though, I think you just have a bad card and you're venting because across the board so far, AMD performance in Battlefield 4 has been exemplary.

Yeah, it looks like the R9-280X is horrible at BF4. That must be it:

People get bad cards, it doesn't matter what brand they are. Don't get the GTX 770 because:

Well different game and different card, that is my XFX HD7950 would crash ones in a while in game got worse as time passed RMA'd and the replacement card no issues at all! Cause vram getting corrupt.

Certainly wouldn't hurt to RMA and see how well the replacement does

I don't know what NewEgg's policy is on returns/replacements. I might not have a choice. But I got an RMA number and it'll go out Monday and I'll play with the old card on medium in the meantime.

My old card was crashing on only one particular map and then random crashes once every 4-5 rounds. This 280X card has same crash every other round behavior that other 280X card had.

For some reason I suspect that one of your hardware might be causing instability, either power supply or mother board.

Since the first day with the replacement card where I had more freezes and was therefore even more pissed, I've had pretty smooth sailing. I think a new driver came out on like Nov 22nd and it seems to be working fine since then. I don't think I've even had 3 freezes in about 10-15 hours of gameplay which usually coincided with like 20-30 freezes. The guys I play with that used to make fun of my setup are now being mocked by me because they are still having intermittent issues.
