Many pardons if someone posted this and I missed it, but there was a little blurb at x-bits about the 9800pro going to 128-bit bus. How is it still a pro then? ah well

What's so cool about it being 128bits?

Good god. This should DEFINITELY be called something different from 9800 PRO.

9800SE PRO maybe. Jesus... or maybe the 9500XT? How about the 9500 PRO Platinum Edition?
Yuck. Too many goddamn suffixes.

I feel sorry for the poor sap who mistakenly upgrades his 9700 PRO to this card.

Whatever the case, the 9500 PRO rides again...

If they don't change it then everyone will have to read the fine print very carefully. At least it has the potential to generate forum posts from all the poeple coming in and saying "My 9800pro isn't as fast as it should be," thus making us look more popular.

What!?! nV copied the XT name, it's only fair. [alguh]

if you bought a sapphire 9800 pro, how do you tell if it's 256 bit or 128 bit?

<font color=blue>Asus P4P800 Deluxe, 2.6C @ 3.25Ghz, 1GB Geil Platinum PC4000, Radeon 9800 Pro, SB Audigy 2, Antec TrueBlue 480, 2x120GB Maxtor DM+9's: 1 SATA, 1 PATA, Plextor DVD+RW, & Plextor CD-RW.

Product Code.

Also if you use things like ATI Tray Tools, you can find out what you bought. Make sure when you buy something they state/write somewhere what you expect to be buying. That way you can return it if it's not what you wanted.

Its sapphires new tactic. People buy a 9800pro - it performs like crap - sapphire say " well we have the X800pro in stock buy this".
