Hello! I'm new to PC building and this is my first build.
Can you explain how to know if GPU fits motherboard?
(Ex.SAPPHIRE DUAL-X R9 280 with what mobo?)

Solution

Morning mate.

Most motherboards will take that graphics card. Just make sure that it has either a PCI-E x8 or x16. :)

Also, make sure to get a PSU that will power the graphics card fully. :)

In Sapphire webpage they say: PCI Express based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard.
So i don't understand does it need PCI express or PCI X16

And i don't understand what's the difference between PCIe 3.0 and PCIe 2.0

Yes it would need a PCI-E x16 but most motherboards have at least one of them nowadays. To answer your question about PCI-E 3.0 and 2.0:

PCI-E 3.0 like USB 3.0 lacks the hardware to take advantage of the bandwidth. SATA 3.0's bandwidth is used only by SSDs currently. All are future standards, but lack the hardware to fully utilize their advantages.

* Also, any PCI-E 3.0 will work with any PCIe 2.0 motherboard. :)
