Sapphire Nitro+ design flaw?

I just got the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580. the PCI power connector is right on top of the heatpipes, and therefore the cables touch the heatpipe. For those of you out there that also have one, is it supposed to touch the heatpipe? wouldn't this be a bad thing

Its not so much a design flaw as an issue with the type of PCIe cables your PSU has.
You shouldnt have any issues with it, but some PSUs have less flexible cables that allow it to clear the heatpipes better.

I would also recommend you take some more time on the cable management, zipties are great and all but having them untrimmed and right in plain view isnt the best way about it.

They must assume that the pipes wont get hot enough to melt the sheath or that you will reroute your power cables so they go up and away from the pipe as much as possible. I'm thinking it's both.

I would never have noticed that as a design flaw, but my PSU is above the video card rather than below it.
