Sapphire R7 260x black screen!!!

Bought a sapphire R7 260x 2gb(says oc edition but core and memory clocks are lesser than referrence) 25 days back.
Whole system is new.Got a black screen just when sitting on the desktop two days after i built the pc.Restarted pc,everythjing fine for 2 weeks,black screen again,all components running fine inside the cabinet,still black screen tried unplugging and replugging DVi cable,no go,monitor still gets signal after black screen.This was with the the driver which came along with the gpu.
Then installed 13.12 from amd webiste,black screen next day,just when browsing the internet.
Uninstalled that too and installed 13.12c from sapphire which had catalyst version 14.1,worked fine for 8 days,black screen again when watching a movie.Movie sound form the speaker turned into a wird long loop,still monitor was recieving signal.So uninstalled that too and installed 14.3 beta.Restarted the pc and when installiong arkham origins,black screen again,restated the pc and uninstalled that too and installed 13.10.Worked fine for one day and black screen again just after starting the system when browsing thorugh my folders on the hard disk.

Everytime i do a clean uninstall and boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper and only then i install another version.

When gaming this has never happened,No heating issue,max temp is 76 even with crysis 3.To be noted:I live in India,chennai.It is summer now and temps are between 35 and 40c outside.

Even tried leaving the system on for 5 minutes after black screen,display does'nt comeback,all components would still be running.I have to hard shut down and restart everytime this happens.

Even before i bought this card i knew many are facing this issue,with all manufacturers like asus,xfx,sapphire and all.Stll took a risk by going with the card.I just wanna know if it is hardware issue or a driver related problem.If its latter i can wait for a table version.Just wanna make sure it is not a hardware issue,if so i will have to rma this card.

I could not relate each occurance with another,happens completely random.Everytime happened under diferrent scenarinly thing i could get out of those were like the gpu did not have lot of work to do.Was almost at idle.

Tested drivers:
13.20(worked fine for 2 days black screen,again worked fine for 2 weeks,black screen) which came along with the disc(for some reason this was released before 13.10 or 13.12)
13.10(good for 1 day)
13.12(good for 2 days)
13.12c from sapphire website.(good for 8 days)
14.3 beta(not even for 1 hour).

My whole system config is:
I3-3220
Gigabyte B75m-D3h
Corsair value select 4gb 1600mhz ddr3
Seagate barracuda 1 tb
Sapphire R7 260x 2g Gddr5
Power supply:Corsair VS450(UK version)34A on 12v.

The issue is unpredictable and random black screens. Ami right? If yes, then did the issue appear again after installing the drivers as "run as administrator" till now.

It hasn;t happened again,even if i had installed it normally it would only black screen after a week or twoo mostly..Doesn't happen very soon after i do a fresh install...Btw even previously the driver was being installed as administrator...the exe automatically starts as administrator...Just right clicked and ran as administrator since you asked me to do it...i don't think this is going to solve the issue as it had already been installed as admin..anyways lets lets wait and see...I will keep updating here...

I have similar MB like you. I got Gigabyte h77-d3h. Maybe there are some compatibility issues. :/

Welcome to the club..And your board is different,that's a h77 one a level higher than mine...so you too have ranom black screens right?,,which brand is your 260x?

All 3 of you have Intel processors? Could be an issue with a set of hardware configuration since it's working for a lot of people.

Could be,but we cannot say anything for sure yet...because it is happening to many..not all would have inel procs...Even if it is happening with inetl procs many will have this issue because most people use intel procs...

Oh am not going to downclock...my card is at stock speed...And already my version is 50(core clock) and 100(memory) mhz slower than the refference card...how would downclocking help..becasue the issue happens only whe the card is at 2d speed.

I saw after you disable all the things the card does for your video such as de-interlace or correct flesh tone etc, and I mean disable all, the with the gpu scaling off and amd onedrive and overdrive disabled, the black screen becomes less frequent, I have tried normal and admin installs and several driver starting from 13.11 to 14.4 in both win 7 32 and 64 i noticed that the disabling the above makes BS less frequent and BS is more frequent with 64bit using the current WHQL and in 32bit using 14.2 v2 beta results much more BS.......as for down-clocking well, I bought the sapphire 260X 2GB OC version for the xtra juice, down.clock beats the whole point, might as well get another card, u kno.........

Remember that I had a driver issue with a Sapphire HD 4670 once, it was resolved within the release of the next drivers.
I had different AMD cards since, all from Sapphire, so I wil give this card another chance until the next driver wil be released.

Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered... Had this message in event viewer...

I dont know what happened but I faced the following.

My computer turns of display after 10min of un use. I didnt changed this

So display was turned off. Used the mouse, to turn on display, display turned on and suddenly a black screen happened. It was exactly those symptoms what happens at the time of black screen but this time after 1 min may be or less a bit display came and everything worked fine.
But I didn't get any message like you not in event viewer or not anywhere. & I saw gpuz all behavior of my card was normal.

Is it a good news??? AMD did anything in v14.4???

Part of unpredictable behaviour may also be due to bad copy of windows. Try re-installing windows and/or installing another copy of windows.

Do you think everyones copy of windows can be bad??

If we could get complete hardware configuration from 10 random people having the same issue then we can check if something is similar. It cannot be a coincidence that all 10 have some same piece of hardware and the same issue. (Currently 2 have gigabyte boards)

no I didn't ask the for the refund I'm from the Philippines the only question left is whether we have the bad stock of R7 260x or Driver issues that needs to be fix, or other solutions from other people who encounter the same problem like us, the distributor said that I can return to them if the problem still persist but they need a video evidence in order for my item to be replace because they test my video card and found no problem that is why they just updated my bios but if I were to ask I think they didn't fully test it or encounter that random BS

Windows is full of bugs and you find new fixes in the form of updates every now and then. So, literally, everyone's windows is bad one. Also there are possible dvd burning errors on windows dvd so some dvd's are bad due to it.

May be you are right. But I dont use DVD or CD. I like to use pendrive installation. And I have all current updates of my windows 8.1. And I dont find any other problem anywhere. My computer is super fast. anyway if it is the problem of windows now then it may be a conflict of Microsoft and AMD driver. So its the duty of AMD to fix it I think. & I think they are doing it. Because today I saw some hope when I recovered from a black screen.

2 weeks but still after it came back the problem persist if not Black Screen it will be blue screen.

so far I'm searching also here for the solution or someone from ATI or Sapphire can answer or someone who encounter the same problem can also help us if they found solution to this problems.

I was hoping also for the next release of Drivers or Another set of BIOS release for this. even in 14.4 still the problem encounter then random artifacts at browser then when watching movies it get black screen and stuttering sounds.
