Im planning to do some little overclocking with my GPU

Im a bit worried cause i know that im already in my power consumption limit

whats the safest core clock, memory clock and especially what the maximum voltage that i should set?

Or is it better if i will just OC my CPU?

- Intel i3 3210 3.2ghz
- seasonic s12ii 520w
- 2x 4gb RAM 1600mhz
- asrock h61m-vs r2.0
- 160gb HDD SATA
- WIndows 7 64bit
- 4x 120mm fans
- Sapphire r9 280x Vapor X

Oh yeah that's pretty low. You have a cpu bottleneck which basically means the performance of your gpu is being limited by your cpu. In some games this will be worse than others, judging from the performance you are getting in AC3 that game happens to be somewhat cpu intensive so the effects of your cpu bottleneck will be more noticeable in that game. What settings are you playing at in AC3? you might want to turn them down a bit.

No, unfortunately those i3's have a locked multiplier meaning you wont be able to achieve any meaningful overclock. You can overclock it by adjusting the base clock but that changes the speed of more than just the cpu so it can be complicated to get stable and I doubt you would be able to overclock it higher...
I doubt an overclock to the gpu would really be helpful for you. What games do you play and what do you get for gpu usage in those games? If gpu usage isn't near 100% most of the time in your game then an overclock wont really do much since your already being limited by your cpu.

most of the times its 20-40% only. as of now im playing AC3 with a 30-60fps, im getting a fps drop up to 27 sometimes. Im a bit noob can i OC my CPU to catch up with my GPU?
