SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC r9 290 and fx 8350 bad combo

i just bought the SAPPHIRE TRI-X OC r9 290 and i have a fx 8350 and i keep getting low fps on every single game i play , i have tried to look for a solution and i noticed most of the people that have this problem have the same video card and cpu?

Here is my question. Just whose drivers are ya'll using? Sapphire, like most 3rd party manufacturers, use customised settings and drivers in their gpus and software. AMD drivers and software work best with AMD Gpu's and could possibly have issues with custom setups. If not directly specified to use the stuff from AMD's website, its usually recommended to do that stuff from the gpu manufacturers. It may help.

Checked alrady, sapphire has no specific driver, and my friend has these issues with his power color card as well, and he only uses AMD site drivers and coolwolf has no issues just using AMD's software with his MSI... I don't think that is the issue here

i noticed my vcore1 temps were above 60 while gaming and this made my cpu temps to go up since they are like 1 inch apart in the motherboard so i played around with some bios settings i turned off turbo boost turned llc to 50% and changed a few other stuff and managed to get the vcore under 60 or 54 average while gaming which is a big improvement but i didnt see any fps boost.i have been thinking it probably the cpu but others have intel cpu with the r9 290 and have the exact problem so i am stuck right here.i really dont know what to do since i get random fram drops in every game

Yep... thinking about getting an intel mobo and 4770k to throw in, install on a separate hdd (maybe a new SSD) a new copy of windows, try it out, and send it back if its not any faster.

if u do tell me how it works cause i might do the same its very disapponting that amd idk if its the drivers or hardware arnt compatible together

What sucks is I still see people saying "8350 runs fine for me" everywhere! and we got freaking R9 290's!!! They're on like 760's and 770's! such a weird glitch. Me and my friend still ahve it, and I don't know hwat it could possibly be... just the 8350/r9 290 combo or... Everyone on youtube seems to run theirs fine though

I have r9 290 Vapor-X with Amd FX 8350 and all works fine (bf4 max settings... 64 players 80-90 fps)

Hmm... really? I don't know about the OP, but there was only one fix for me... I spent $500 on a Z97 and 4790k...
Truth its, after trying around 70-80 different "fixes" and several months of my life devoted to troubleshooting, it AMAZES me that everyone else's 8350/r9 290 seems to work flawlessly, but me and my friends don't...

I tried hdmi-hdmi, DVI-DVI, HDMI-DVI... they ALL had the same issues with 8350/290

OC? Could try that. Bump core up to 1160 and memory to 1500 (6000 MHz). That seemed to helpsome in some reviews I just read.

YEs but that was never the issue... a stock 290 should run faster...
The fact that JUST switching to 4790k and not touching the GPU gave me fro 40-75fps to 70-110fps... It was obviously never the GPU's fault in the first place...

Something is set wrong (I could never find it, and I tried EVERYTHING) or the 8350 simly can't handle a 290 efficiently...
