This is why I was hoping this card would be tested inside an actual case instead of on the usual open bench. Tom's, can you please do a follow up on this review to let us know the thermal characteristics in an actual real-world use case?

It's a minor quibble for some but with PCIe power connected this card no longer fits in mitx dimensions. I would love to see one of these cards with a suitably recessed power connector and possibly a slight PCB cutout to bring actual installed dimensions down to match the profile of the card.

The 117mm width could be a close call, but it might just make it inside the Chieftec bt-04b-u3. And, even though Gigabyte's 970 itx is more powerfull and consumes less power, it is also wider and the placement of the power connector requires the use of a wider case.
So, this card is for those who want a case which is both short and as thin as you could possibly get, while still being able to house a full-size card.
