Hello, I got one big problem with my computer. I got for free an Alienware X51 R1 with an intel core I7 3770 and I choose to upgrade my old computer with the motherboard, cpu and RAM from the X51, everything works fine except that I needed more SATA slots, so I ordered an adaptor from mini pcie to PCIE x1 slot and an SAS controller from ebay.
Got the stuff home and then I connected the adaptor to my X51 mobo and the sas controller but it won't detect the controller.
Then I tried to use an GPU in the adaptor and that worked flawlessly.
Decided that I should try to use the sas controller in an laptop with the adaptor to see if it worked and it worked right away.
Then I tried to put my SAS card in the PCIE x16 slot on the X51 mobo and the graphics card in the adaptor and then the computer detected the SAS card right away.

I suspected there might be an BIOS setting that could fix this, but the BIOS was very limited so I started to look for an unlocked BIOS but could not find one. Then I downloaded some tools and unlocked the bios myself, now with many more options in BIOS I started to search for one that maybe could have helped me, but I couldnt find a setting that made any difference.

Anyone here got any solution?

SPEC:
CPU: Intel I7 3770
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Radeon 7970
HDD: Intel 120 SSD and 8 other HDDs in various sizes
SAS Controller: LSI SAS3081E-R
Adaptor: mini pcie - PCIE adaptor.

Tried with an network card and an soundcard in the adaptor today and both were detected by my computer.
Anyone got any clue about why the SAS card wont be detected?
