I'm getting ready to purchase this Dell H310 SAS HBA Controller along with this Mini SAS 36 Pin SFF-8087 to 4x SAS/SFF-8482 with 1 Power HDD Cable. I recently got my hands on a SAS drive (very cheap) that I'd like to install internally into my dedicated Plex PC server. Surprisingly I don't have any molex connectors in the PC. I have only one unused cable (says P3 on it - 6 pin) from the PS. Can I use this P3 connector to connect to the molex power for the SAS drive? If so, I cannot find a P3 female to male molex. Here's a link with pix.

So with nothing in the Service Manual and that connector looking very much like a 6 pin PCIe power cable for a graphic card (see HERE and note the correspondence of pin shapes are identical although inverted in your photo), which would be 12V and ground wires, I would not use that connector since a 4 pin Molex has 5V, 12V and two ground wires. I expect that P3 to an adapter may cook your HDD.

I would find an identifiable connector on another device like a PCIe SATA HDD power connector and use a splitter or make one, careful to use the correct pin to wire connections.
