SAS in Desktop

Hello all,

I have a new task at work which involves testing of SAS drives as well as SATA/SSD using 3rd party testing software (Crystal Disk and HD Tune Pro). Up until now we have not had the need to test SAS but would like to start. Would this be accomplished by installing a SAS controller to the desktop? I need a hot-swappable solution as we now have thousands of these drives.

What backplane connector do you have for the hotswap bays or are you expecting to have loose cable w/ sas connectors on them to plug into the bare drives?

the Sas expander would give you more then Ports to work with if yo need more then what comes on the Sas card. The gem here is the list of Sas cards that will work with it giving you room to grow.

I have an IBM M1015 and want one of these but I can't say I have the need yet. 8 drives is plenty considering the 4tb'ers are ready to to replace the 2's.

This should support older as well as latest Sas configs and has windows drivers
