[SOLVED] Sata 3 PCIE expansion card

So let's say I buy a RAID enabled pcie sata expansion card (cos my mainboard didn't come with enough to satisfy me)... what kind of performance can I expect from it? Should I moderate my expectations or will drives plugged into it be able to perform on par with the those in mainboard ports?

It will be the same. PCIe 3.0 is PCIe 3.0. There is no difference. The bus will have the same bandwidth limitations.
