Hi, I bought a new WD Blue 500 GB SSD a few days ago and after installing windows on it and messing around in the BIOS I got it working as my boot drive with my old 1 TB HDD as my storage drive. Everything ran fine for a couple days and I was getting normal read/write speeds of ~500 mb/s. I went to turn on my PC one day and it started with "Scanning and Repairing C: Drive (my SSD)". I thought it was odd so I ran crystal disk mark and was getting speeds around 250-280 mb/s on the same sequential read/write tests. I opened crystal disk info and it now says I'm running in Sata 300 (sata 2) mode while the supported mode is Sata 600 (sata 3).
I've tried disconnecting the HDD completely and booting my SSD from the port it was in and one other on my motherboard (Dell 084j0r) however the PC won't boot it just sits at the windows screen and doesn't do anything. I've also used different Sata 3 cables that did nothing. Most recently I tried updating the drivers for my Mobo and even flashed the BIOS but nothing has changed it back to Sata 3 mode. I would like to try and boot the PC from my SSD in a different sata port but like I mentioned I am unable to. I'm not sure if the issue is my SSD, mobo, or something else?
Here's a good look at my mobo on pages 14/15: https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/...desktop/inspiron-660_owner's manual_en-us.pdf
