Hi, I'm using several SATA III drives (both WD and Seagate) on Intel SATA II controller, work fine but S.M.A.R.T. parameter "SATA Downshift count" increases each time I cycle power or reset computer. Guess this is because downshift to 3Gb/s speed forced by Intel ESB2 SATA controller. Are you experiencing same behaviour on similar setup? Is there anything I can do to prevent this (except replacing the controller/drives that I don't want to). Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your effort but please do not answer unless you have something to say 😉 This parameter has almost nothing to do with physical drive condition...
