sata hard drive disabled in bios

hiya,

I'm pretty new to the computer building stuff and trying to work it all out.
I've put together a pc, all runs smoothly. But for some reason it doesnt show my 2T harddrive. It does show up in my bios but it's disabled together with my SSD. It's click bios and I havent been able to find a way to change them to auto. Do I need to find a way to change that? Do I need to install drivers?

I have a MSI Z170 A motherboard, Seagate 2T harddrive and an SSD an running windows 10 pro

I'd strongly recommend you check if you have enabled the SATA ports through the BIOS interface settings. If you need assistance on where to find these configurations, check your mobo's manual. You definitely need to update to the latest SATA controller & chipset drivers from the mobo manufacturer's official website or the drivers' pack CD that came will the hardware. You should be able to find your model on the website, though, with the latest updates of all the drivers & BIOS version as well.

You should also try re-plugging the drives and swapping them in different SATA ports. It's recommended to use the first available ports (SATA 0, 1, etc.).
