Thanks CountMike, IIRC it's PATA SM or PATA PE, it was last month when I tried to use it,Exact word is PATA and not IDE ?
Hi SkyNetRising, will resetting the bios solve this? thanks..SATA controller has to be switched into AHCI mode (in BIOS).
If SATA controller is in IDE mode, all SATA HDDs connected to it appear as PATA.
I see, SATA/AHCI and PATA/IDE, will try this and give feedback. That is Win7. Thank you.Nope, it will make your PC unbootable.
You need to switch the driver to AHCI first and then reboot into the bios and change the sata mode from IDE/Legacy/ATA to AHCI.
Which OS are you running?
For WIN7 this was the process. MS used to have a 1 click fixit button but I see they removed it.
This worked, thanks..I see, SATA/AHCI and PATA/IDE, will try this and give feedback. That is Win7. Thank you.
