SATA II SSD drive compatible with SATA I input

I have an older computer that I'd like to add an SSD drive to. Unfortunately, the motherboard only has the capabilities to connect have a SATA I connection. But SATA I SSD drives are harder to find, and if I get a SATA II/III SSD drive, it will be ready to use in a new computer in the future. So would a SATA II drive work? I know it would only go the speed of a SATA I connection, but I'm okay with that.

Thanks.

Yes it should work. Some bad quality SATA chipset did have some issues though. But normally SATA 1 - SATA2 - SATA3 all are backwards and forwards compatible.
