SATA to USB 3.0 disk connector

Hi all, I just took my Seagate disk from its USB enclosure. I also took out Sata to USB board from it, can I use it with any other hard drive? Or does it have to be Seagate one?

Try it and see. It may work, may not, some boards have built in encryption to work with specific drive models, some don't.
