SB Live player 1024 under win2k

I installed win2k on my system and it detected my sblive without any problems, but I can't seem to get the rear speakers output working, I set the speaker type to 5.1 (where it should be) under the general sound options but it didn't work, and the creative software refuses to work, not the playcenter, not the diagnostics, not the launcher, the hq, nothing! I thouhgt there must be a way to get them working without the creative stuff because win2k detected it automatically, can anyone help me with this?

The live! drivers include in W2K only support basic sound, no rear.
You have to install LiveWare to get that...
