Scandisk @ Bootup

Since I defrag'd last weekend everytime I boot up it wants to run scandisk. Have a P3-600,128/133 ram on a via board.
Win 98 se.
Any ideas.

GET INTO A DOS PROMPT AND RUN SCANREG /FIX

Thanks for your response. That seemed to fix the problem.
It rebuilt the Windows\system.dat file
