Scanjet 4070 Re-install

Has anyone had any luck reinstalling a Scanjet 4070? I had to reinstall my
software so it would recognize a new imaging program I had installed. Now
the HP Director is all messed up. I can't scan. Please help. Thanks

This is the typical sad lament by owners of HP scanners. HP does a really
crummy job with its scanner software. Your best bet is to manually clean up
(delete) the folder(s) where the software was installed, then clean the registry
of all references to the scanjet, also primarily a manual process. If you are
uncomfortable and uncertain about what to do, pay for a competent professional
to do it. I am available for this sort of work for computers somwhere on Route
2 or I-495 in eastern Massachusetts... Ben Myers
