Hopefully this is the right place to ask this question as this is more of an info gathering post. If it's the appropriate place for this, the actual request will come a bit later.
I am pretty new at this, but I have 2 PC's that were built 2-3 years ago and I was thinking of scavenging the best parts of each in order to consolidate them into 1 gaming PC. I was hoping that I could post their hardware and ask for help in choosing the best parts of each. Hell, for all I know both PC's are relatively comparable and it would be pointless to do this. Either way, prior to doing this there are a few questions that I have, some of them are pretty stupid but I'm on vacation and currently lack any access to my PC:
1) is this the right place to ask for this kind of help?
2) should I even bother asking for this kind of help? 🙁
3) which hardware pieces are the ones that I should list? Motherboard, graphics card, power supply, memory, etc?
4) I believe there is a function in windows 9 that I can use to find out what hardware I have, any tips on how I can find this?
Once I get back home, I will do a little more research. I just want to make sure I get my ducks lined up and that I know where to go for help.
Thanks in advance!
