Ever heard of Google? If you want to see scantily dressed women, they are easy to find.

Intel wants to start making gaming more about the CPU, not the graphics card. So instead of having to buy a $350 GTX 285 we'll be looking at $1,000 "Extreme" CPUs from Intel. They are the largest manufacturer of CPU chips but still their prices are through the roof. $280 for entry level Core i7 which is $30 higher than AMD's flagship Phenom II X4 955. I'm no AMD fanboy but I'm not looking to a future controlled by Intel.

The entry level core i7 beat's the flagship of amd.. So your point is moot their sorry.

I'm not fanboy of Intel, but I'm also not a fanboy of AMD. They both have their pros and cons. You're not any cooler for being an intel hater, then the fanbois are.

and the entry-level i7 is going to be discontinued soon as well :p

So let me guess, this computex thing is an intel trade show?

In gaming (as doomtomb was mentioning) the entry level core i7 actually trades blows with AMDs flagship for more money. It's in other applications where the i7 beats AMD. Just clarifying.

Also to get and i7 with the X58 chipset is going to costs (with the cheapest board on NewEgg) $450
To get the 955 with the 790GX chipset would be (with the cheapest board on NewEgg) $354.
That's a near $100 price difference. Costs is the problem which doomtomb is pointing out. His point isn't moot.

Edit:
Sentence should read:
Also to get an i7 with the X58 chipset is going to cost (with the cheapest board on NewEgg) $450.

Mind pointing out where Intel stated that?

A) Not everyone builds a system for gaming primarily.
B) That's not even true:

The i7 has the best performance with the higher end graphics setups.

A. I know this, but in reference to what doomtomb, it was about gaming.
B. Ummm...I don't know if you put the wrong link up or what, but that is the X4 9950, not the Ph II X4 955. Perhaps you meant..
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/phenom-x4-955,2278-9.html

Looking at this chart it is true...

That's only a single GTX 260 Core 216, look at the setup of the link I posted, then compare the numbers.

Ok....
Your charts are of the extreme i7, the discussion was about the 920. But besides that, so you saying not only do you have to have an expensive cpu, an expensive motherboard, but now you need an expensive GPU to make it all good?

Loking at the chart you provided the extreme i7 with a GTX 280 had 65 frames per second.
A Ph II 955 with a GTX 260 216 had 74 frames per second. Wasn't your point that a better graphics card was needed?

[citation][nom]Gin Fushicho[/nom]okay people WANT ALL of you to READ THIS ------> http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] ,2318.htmli7 920 will be replaced[/citation]
I already read that, and I cannot find where is definitively says the 920 be discontinued. That article is about the 940 and the 965 being replaced, so perhaps you're just a bit confused.

Tuan's the one scouring the Computex floor, but I've already put in a special request for boothbabes, so expect to see something soon. ;)
