Hi, any scheduled task I create, after restarting my pc, they all get disabled, even if I enabled them before, with the exception of Avast for some reason
Any help?

Use the Avast task as a reference and compare the settings in its' tabs (General, Triggers, Actions, Conditions, Settings, History) to another task of your choosing.

Select a task that you can easily monitor or observe.

Match the Avast settings and see if you can identify some relevant difference.

Interesting that the tasks are being disabled en masse.

Do you see any common factors in the affected task history tabs?

Any batch files or scripts being launched at start-up?

E.g.:

My other thought, at the moment, is to look into Event Viewer. May be some log entry regarding the disabling action(s).

Would not think that any AV software would do that per se but maybe a virus is trying to disable all scheduled tasks... However, Avast is able to protect itself. Feel that I am reaching a bit but not going to let that get in the way. Will err on the side of caution.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem. it only seems to have started very recently, I wonder if it was the last Avast update, as I also use that and the timing would be about right.

@the_furious_man , Yup, Issue found, was avast causing the problems. After disabling Avast's scheduled task, the other tasks stay enabled and run on startup. Finally have SpeedFan and Trixx launch at startup without UAC

I've been struggling with this problem for the last few days, and this is the only place I've seen anyone discussing this issue. I also use Avast, but even though I don't have the Cleanup component installed, my tasks were still being disabled. I tried disabling Game Mode (not to be confused with Silent Mode), and that seems to have done the trick. Also, I did not have to disable the Avast scheduled task.

Looks like Cleanup didn't solve it for me after all. Looking at the logs it does look like tasks were getting disabled when I started games. I've just tried disabling Game mode and so far so good.... (thanks zosovc)

Just wanted to say thank you zosovc! This has been driving me nuts the past couple weeks. I'm glad I decided to do a bit more searching before doing another fresh install of Windows.
