Recently while installing the back plate for my hyper 212 evo, i scratched my motherboard with pliers. Now my computer wont boot. Do you think this was the problem? Fans were spinning but no signal on monitor.

Solution
Motherboards are typically 6 or more layers of thin circuits stuck together. If the scratch was very light and only damaged the exterior layer it might be repairable. The problem is that this type of work is normally done under a microscope by someone with years of experience patching boards. We recently got some prototype boards repaired & patched, but the repair costs would often exceed the cost of a new board in most cases. We only did it was it was an irreplaceable $1000+ prototype.
Are all your connections all in place and your gpu seated properly. If the scratch is bad then I would say that caused it, but if the mobo powers everything up like your gpu, cpu, etc then I do not think that is the problem.

it booted before the scratch... i think this scratch affected the logic circuit and not the power circuit.

Does it power up all your components? If so, then check your gpu connections to your monitor. If it booted before the scratch. I would suggest that you majorly hurt your poor motherboard 🙁 Replace it if all else fails.

well, the pliers went through many layers of the mobo... i have a feeling i broke a circuit that lets the cpu direct the drive to boot... ):
