I´ve had problems with my PC hard drives since last year.
The issue is that HDD makes a click-beep sound that freezes computer for 4-5 seconds (rarely BSOD). I've had this issue since I cancelled a big download, This issue becomes worst when I change my HDD and it happends exactly the same: I cancel a big download and the "click of death"(It just freezes a bit, not BSOD) appears again.
It's so strange, because it doesn´t happen every time, it's actually random.
I don't know w*f is breaking my HDDs, or even if my current HDD is broken or the problem is caused by another component, but it's obviously that something in my PC is causing my HDDs to fail.
PD: I changed my Graphic Card thinking it was a power problem (GTX 480 OC to GTX 650) but it fixed nothing
PD2: I forgot to tell that I did a surface test on the HDD and I tried to solve it merging the 2 partitions that compounded my hard drive but nothing worked :/
