Good evening

Hoping someone can explain to me what would cause this. Has happened twice so far today (never happened before today). I am playing World of Warcraft on ultra high settings at 100+ frames, than suddenly my screen turns black for 1-2 seconds, than back on. When it comes back on, my computer is struggling with graphics, with frame rate dropping to 20 or so.

Graphics card is a GeForce 660 and operating system is Windows 7, if that helps.

Thanks,
Crenz

Solution
This is a driver issue. Im going to link you the place to go for your video driver but it could be other components not working well with each other.

http://www.geforce.com/drivers

Just go there and auto detect or select it yourself. See how it turns out. If this doesn't fix it let me know.
Thanks, it stopped acting up a few days after I made this original post. However, my Windows software fails at checking for updates cause I went to the site you recommended and it found updates! Thanks, updating now and that should solve any future issues.

Windows DOES NOT update drivers. The only time you will see a Windows Update pertaining to a driver is when it actually effects how Windows operates. So don't ever depend on software to keep software up to date. Do it yourself.

And for future reference, that was just for your video drivers. Every part of your machine has a driver, and will impact performance. even a dialup modem, if its not in use, will affect performance if the driver isn't optimal. So its something you might want to take a hour out of your day sometime to update.
