Hello everyone! So I just recently bought a new custom rig. For the most part I didn't have many issues until now. I was playing Overwatch when the game froze and the sound was rapidly repeating itself. I received an error saying that it lost the rendering device. I looked it up and saw a lot of things about drivers and overclocking so i attempted to play another game, FF14. Same thing happened. As soon I started the game it crashed and i received another error stating it had a fatal directX error. While i was looking up solutions for that error the web browser froze, and the littke tone played whenever you plug something in our out of your PC. The computer hasn't fully shut down or reset itself, just crashes the games and now freezes the screen. It was working perfectly fine last night and this just started to occur.

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero
CPU: Intel i7 6700K 4.00 GHz
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 3200MHz
Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD
Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2
Display: Acer 28'' 60Hz 4k UHD Monitor w/ G Sync
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000w 80+ Platinum

Please help!

What a beefy system!

How about the drivers? have you tried using a program like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and making sure they are 100% gone and then (double checking) getting the latest ones from Nvidias site?

I'd start there.

Such a simple solution... I was using the GeForce experience application and for whatever reason it didn't work. I even tried reinstalling with that app and still nothing. Doing it from the site and using the DDU worked. Thanks!! lol

It worked for a couple hours... Same thing just happened again... And now the computer wont even let me login or anything. It just constantly keeps resetting itself and the screen stays black. =(

Possible power supply issue. Maybe double check and make sure the plugs are secure to the GPU?
Can you take the card out and try in anther system? or do you have another card you can put in and see if it all works?

I didn't have another PC to really test it on, but i did have an older GPU I plugged into my PC and everything was working just fine with it. I'm returning the card for the 1080Ti ASUS Strix version and hopefully that will fix everything. I'll update tomorrow after it arrives.
