So I've recently upgraded to windows 10 pro from windows 7 which ran fine with no such issues... But as soon as I installed windows 10 the screen whenever I log into windows starts blinking and by blinking I mean it turns off for a second and turns back on again... This happens after every 1 second.

This is what is happening

I thought it was graphics driver issue so I uninstalled, reinstalled latest drivers for my GPU, also ran my GPU with Microsoft adapter drivers... But nothing worked

I'm running an i3 with radeon HD 5450

Thanks for the reply but you didn't answer my question properly.

I need to know whether Task Manager blinks as well or not. You can open it by right-clicking on the Task Bar at the bottom and clicking on "Task Manager" or you can search for it and run it via the Start menu.

Oh sorry, yeah the task manager blinks as well... Both when opening and closing it.

That test almost certainly proves that it's a problem with the display adapter drivers. Unfortunately for you, your display adapter is eleven years old so you're unlikely to find any drivers that will fix this problem in Windows 10. Buying a new graphics card will probably work although it's not guaranteed.

You may want to consider rolling back to Windows 7 until it's time to buy a new computer. That option is time-limited so don't leave it too long.

Okay so I've got an update: the screen blinks EVEN when I'm in bios... Is that still a GPU problem? Or is it smth like PSU cannot supply power well enough to the monitor or something....

Ps. I've got a trashy cheap power supply.

Ah, in that case it can't be a Windows issue but a hardware problem and an astonishing coincidence that it happened immediately after installing Windows 10.

I don't know whether the fault lies with the PSU or graphics card. Do you have, or can you borrow, one or both to test?
