Question Screen mirroring for gaminf

What is the best way to mirror a screen? I currently have a desktop PC which I use for gaming and use a chrome book for mobile use around the house.

I'd like to break away from the desktop PC for gaming and have tried the steam link app, but its really laggy and inputs are slow to respond.

Is there some kind of plug in "video sender" that would work better?

Additionally, I'm considering getting a surface pro 7 instead of using my chrome book as I prefer the feel of windows to chrome OS if that helps with things like compatibility.

So you would still have the controller connected to your main PC?!?!
You should start with improving the wifi in your home, the faster the network inside your home the less lag you will have.
