hi, i am mirroring a laptop to a roku 48 in tv. i dont know if it is using my intel graphics card as default but is there a way to switch to my nvidia gtx 1660ti to use as display? does that make sense? there is major lag and screen tearing.

Solution
What is the make/model of your laptop?

Are you running plugged in?
If on battery, the default gpu will be the integrated graphics.

If plugged in, right click on the desktop and look at the nvidia control panel.
You should be able to explicitly select the GTX1660ti adapter.

msi gL63 9sdk gtx 1660ti with an integrated card. the battery is plugged in. im screen mirroring to a 50 inch 4k roku. movies... i think it might be using the dedicated card but im not sure. should i be experiencing issues?

Screen tearing comes from a mismatch between the frame generation capability of the cpu/graphics adapter and the frame presentation rate of the output device.
Your laptop display and your tv are likely to have different capabilities.
You possibly have options for more effective buffering in the nvidia control panel.
This older article will explain a bit; I think it would apply to a GTX1660ti.
