Question Screen resolution error

I have a laptop with Windows 11 and an external monitor connected via HDMI. Sometimes, when I turn on the laptop or wake it up from sleep, the display resolution changes randomly on both screens. For example, the laptop screen goes from 1920x1080 to 1366x768, and the external monitor goes from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080. This happens even when I have set the display settings to extend the desktop and keep the native resolutions. I have to go to the display settings and change the resolution back manually every time this happens. It is very annoying and inconvenient. I have updated the graphics drivers and the BIOS, but the problem persists. What could be the cause of this problem? How can I fix it?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

What is the make and model of your laptop? An SKU would help us understand it's specs. As for your external panel, what is it's make and model? Check and see if the laptop has a BIOS update pending.

As for your GPU, you should use DDU to remove all GPU drivers, then manually reinstall with the latest GPU driver from GPU maker's support site, in an elevated command.
