I just got a GTX 1050 to pair with my i3 2100. When I use Rivatuner of MSI Afterburner to cap the frame rate of games that don't have vsync, I get worse frame tear then not capping the frame rate at all. This happens in all games, what do I do?
Try capping it a couple FPS lower than your display's refresh rate, for instance 58 on a 60 Hz display.
Also, try running just RTSS by itself. Some games have problems with Afterburner.
I tried what you said but it didn't work. Afterburner hasn't been updated because my computer is offline until I get a network card. I will have to try and update it and tell you if it works.
All you need do if you're just capping frame rate is use RTSS, and make sure IT is the latest version. What you're trying to do doesn't require Afterburner at all.

Yes I know, but I also like monitoring temps etc. I don't even know why I started this, because I haven't even tried all possible solutions. I will post when my problem is resolved.
