For months now my screensaver just won't start and I have no idea why. Now I've found out it's my wireless keyboard and don't know how to fix it. I don't know what had changed to stop this from working, I've been using the same PC with Windows 7 for years and also the same wireless keyboard, so nothing has changed there.

When I remove a battery from the keyboard, the screensaver works as expected. When I remove one of the connections for the wireless receiver (it was a keyboard and mouse combo) so the keyboard can no longer type, the screensaver works as expected.

It's definitely the wireless keyboard, it seems like it's constantly sending signals that it's in use when it's not and therefore stopping the screensaver.

Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this issue?

Thanks all.

No it can't be switched off.

I forget to mention in the first post, the keyboard is a Microsoft wireless Multimedia keyboard 1.0a.

I agree with you in that it is more than likely a continuing communications issue between the keyboard and receiver and it was likely some Windows Update that changed the screen saver settings. Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to correct the issue.

That's unfortunate. Thanks anyway,

Anybody else have any ideas?
