SCSI CPU Load

G'day,
I am going to be setting up a website server that has around 200gigs of Ultra160 SCSI hard drives. I'm wondering how beefy the CPU power has to be to be able to handle high traffic on the hard drives?

Is SCSI CPU intensive? Will I need a dual processor system? The server will be for storage only, and not perform any other task.

Regards,
Robbo

One of the greatest advanages to SCSI is that there is very low CPU loading. The controller card handles just about everything. You won't need a very powerful processor at all.

three letters: D M A

What WOULD we do without it?
Heck, buy a duron 700 for pretty cheap and that should do you fine. = )

you can use multiple controllers too so that they better handle IO traffic..

***Hey I run Intel... but let's get real***
