Scythe thermal grease any good?

Hello.

I am looking at the Scythe Mugen 3 cooler which has thermal grease included. I know sometimes included grease is low quality, and I couldn't find any specifics on their website. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thermal paste provided with the heatsink is fine for the average user.
But if you're going to OC hard then a better quality paste is a better option.

Its there to suck the heatsink against your cpu that's it. We are talking about a 0.001 difference between the brands. At hardwaresecrets they even thru toothpaste in the mix lol.
That thermal is fine just don't overkill the cpu with it. Just a small bit in the middle. The heatsink will do the rest

As I recall, the toothpast didn't do too well. After all, most toothpaste has silicon in it (an abrasive) which is exactly what you are trying to avoid with heat sink compound.
