SD Card life expectancy while gaming

I had purchased an SD Card which I would want to use for gaming on my PC. I was wondering if gaming on my SD card would reduce the life expectancy, by that I mean how long would it last and how quickly would it read/write (manufactures claim 10,000 read/write cycles).

Here is the link to the SD card I bought: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AFTV3FC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I put the game Skyrim on my sd card and load times are pretty much the same (when playing of off hard drive), considering the sd card I bought is very fast and is class 10.

The reason for this is my PC has low storage space and is a laptop, and would like to move some of my games to the sd card as it seems convenient.

I hope the card doesn't die quickly and therefore I need some input. thanks.

That's tricky. I've never seen data on that kind of use for an SD card. You might be one of the first testing it. If you can, back up everything to another drive and just see how long it lasts.

But from using Sd cards on cameras, I can say that they are fairly durable. You can even get them wet and use them again after they dry. To make sure it lasts as long as possible, keep writing to a minimum. Also, expect it slow down on random tasks not involved with large loads, but that's not that big of a deal for games.

Thanks for your input.

As the sole purpose of this sd card is for me to play games of off, then I will use it how I intend to. Will be checking how long it lasts. The game data is on the SD card however the save files of games where the changes happen are small files and are on my C: Drive, so maybe it will read/write less? not sure.

It may read/write less but you probably will not lose much at all.
