SD Card Loading Problems

Hi,

So a while back my SD card suddenly had some problems. As it was full of pictures i wanted to transfer all the photos over to my computer so that I can use it in my camera. As i was about to transfer it, my computer had a power failure. After booting everything up, the SDHC card took very long to read. And when it finally does, it doesn't. it says that unable to read. If i try to click on it while it is loading, it would hang my computer i would need to restart it. Is there any way i could retrieve the photos inside? It contains precious memories of my family.

I had card reading issues last week with my usual (external) card reader which was a cheap Trust brand. I knew it wasn't the SD card because the same happened with the CF card from my SLR camera. Took ages for the reading progress bar in Windows to move left to right, only to throw up a read error.

I concluded that the reader was faulty so I paid more for a quality Transcend one, plus a Kingston one as a backup.
They both work perfectly - - problem solved. No more cheap card readers for me.

I tried with 3 different SD card readers and it didn't work.
